Unlikely Alliances
Deranged Drifters MC Prequel
They saved her when she was young.
Now's her chance to save them again, but will they ever fully trust her?
Will she die protecting the man she loves, and his club? Or, even worse, will he let her?
Reagan Gentry had just lost her mother, and her step-father decided she was going to fill that void, no matter what he had to do to take it. Three men in heavy boots, motorcycle kuttes, and burly physiques turned out to be her knights in shining armor. They saved her life that night, and committing perjury to keep them out of jail was nothing compared to what they did for her.
Now, ten years later, Reagan finds herself in a dilemma. While she wants to advance her career as an investigator and continue to help abused children, she feels torn to learn her boss is targeting the men who saved her all those years ago. Loyalty runs deep with her, especially when no one else has ever shown her the same loyalty back until them.
She makes her decision and decides to let her boss believe she's infiltrating the club to get information to take them down to help protect the Deranged Drifters MC and find the mole feeding information to the cops. Her cover is to be Dean "Gunner" Owens's girlfriend, and the ruse is proving to be more than either of them can handle.
The club will never trust her, but they trust her enough to save themselves. This distrust has Gunner consistently on the fence, unable to know whether he should stick with his club or follow his heart. And when Reagan is put in danger multiple times over in her pursuit to save them, he can't help it. He's falling for her.
When Reagan overhears Gunner telling someone what they have is nothing more than the game they're playing for everyone, she's heartbroken. Once again, she's been let down. Even though she wants to walk away and never look back, she's a woman of her word. She will track down and find the mole leaking information, even if it kills her. The risks she's taken for the club that will never let her stay may do just that: kill her.
Will the club figure out who their biggest opposition is, or will they be taken down by one of their own? Will Reagan die protecting the club? Will Gunner let her? Will they ever find a way to be together, or will the club come between them?
